It's sad that the car just sits all those years and nothing is done with it until he dies but now it will come back to life

Default 69 Yenko Chevelle found

Way to go Rick, timing is everything, can't wait to see the resto process. Awesome photos. The Chevelle we have, was sold without a tach, no holes on the firewall for sender.

That's a big trend now. The hoarders are dying. Families are left to deal with it.

and oh what a hoarder he was! Not a fun weekend to remove the car but well worth the efforts. I understood after seeing the garage why the family is still searching for the paperwork.

"If ya take em apart....It's harder for someone to take em away from you!" Heard this line before...and in this case, it's certainly true. Look how much effort Rick put into buying and getting this one the right way. This is one way to make sure your Yenko stays put until YOU decide to part with it.

Congrats again on a awesome save!

BIG

I think the comment stems from the fact that this more or less just fell in my lap where some others have been trying for years. I guess it is not unlike the LS6 convert that I found and someone came in under me with the cash a week before I was going to get the car. Long story but I don't blame it on the buyer as much as I do the seller and I ended up with the restoration so at least I got to enjoy it. The best part on this Yenko deal was the owner called me, twice actually, I did not call him.

when i lived in Indiana, 30 miles from Louisville...i always heard rumors there was a Yenko chevelle around, and could never be bought.....cool it showed up here..Im envious

I pulled a 70 RWB T/A Javelin out of a garage in southern Illinois in the late 90s..when i first saw your pic..it reminded me of the shop where the Javelin was...just as bad, chicken poop everywhere...dog crap...coon crap everywhere...and a flooded garage floor...i almost passed..but i really wanted the car...BAD..kinda deal where ya wash for days and still stink..

it was a car that could never be bought..and i got it..i just had to pay for it..and the seller approached me..a stranger..because he was tired of locals making stupid offers..numbers car too...

i know guys that miss cars, because they wait for the buyer to price it and they go back and forth and its kinda crazy in my mind..both are scared to make a move...stupidity in my book..make any offer and get dialog..then sort thru it and haggle, is my way..

Like I have always said.. If its meant to be, It will. Its funny how things just find there way. I could not be HAPPIER for Rick and Ann ! Just SAD that the orig owner had to sit on it ALL these years and not enjoy the financial outcome. At least his children will and finish the clean up that their father left behind..UGH.

WOW!! Beautiful Car Rick. Can't wait to see this one done...
And the perfect color to boot, I can relate to restoring a car and not having to do a bunch of cutting out rot and
welding in new patches. You guys most have enjoyed going through all of that shit looking for Chevelle parts, Hopefully
all of the fasteners were in one box, But looking at that garage they were probably scattered everywhere.
