Default WIW 1970 Nova SS F41 Rear Sway Bar

Trying to ascertain what a complete unit removed from a 1970 SS Nova is worth.

Best be sure it has all the correct parts, particularly the up and down links, before handing over any cash.

Make sure you pull/cut the welded plates off the trunk floor, probably the most important part of the whole set up. Also, the shock/bar/leaf spring mount plates are a special, half year 70 only design with an agled cut on the edge. The 70 bar set up was only available after Jan 70 (so the info out there dictates). Check the leaf springs as well, my 70 L78 set up came with the 4 leaf rears. Don't know if the bar is out of a SB or BB car.? The whole set up would probably go north of $1k if it's all there, just need to find the right buyer, only correct for 2nd half 70 Nova's. Good luck with it

As others have mentioned...you need to have all the pieces including the trunk plates. Best audience for this setup is someone restoring a Deuce or a later build L78 Nova. If I had the whole package in my garage I would look to get $1500 or more for it...rare item indeed.

Wilma,
Okay, I thought I had everything, but I'm missing a Shock plate. After gathering up my rear sway bar parts this is what I have located.
1. Both LH/RH weld-in brackets
2. Two Rear Sway Bars
3. Two Front 13/16 Sway Bar
4. Two Sets of Arms
5. One Shock Plate
6. Two sets of Brackets that hold Sway Bar to the Shock Plates

Make sure the Arms/Drop links have the tightening bolt at the very bottom of the bushing enclosure. There are later arms that have this bolt at a 90o angle. These are incorrect for the Deuces and L78's. They are for later years

Looks good to me, rarely do you see the whole set up 100% complete. GLWS. Remember what rear leaf springs came out of that 70 L78 F41 Nova.?

JRSully,
Sorry, I don't remember. I'll ask my buddy to see if he remembers. Dave
