Cool get together today in OKC.
Every year (maybe twice a year) a group of Pantera enthusiasts gather at my friend Chuck's place in OKC. Chuck is a brain surgeon, but one of the most down to earth guys you ever met. His daily driver is an 88 535is that I converted from Auto trans to a five speed many years ago. Also helped him with a big brake conversion on the same car using all factory BMW parts. (It doesn't hurt that between my brother and I we have owned over 60 bimmers over the years, and I STILL have a huge stash of parts.... but I digress).
Because of our common car bond, Chuck and his lovely wife always invite Sherri and me to the "Unofficial Pantera Meet" at his home. We are the only non Pantera owners in the group, so we feel honored. Chuck has two; a street car and a track car. These guys are true gear heads, and there are as many as 12 Panteras that show up each meeting; with everything from bone stock to 600 hp twin turbo cars. Always a lot of fun, even if they are Ford powered. I don't think I have ever posted about this event, but this year we had something really special. One of the guys (Ray) that is always there has a couple of Lamborginis. He has worked on Lambos for decades. One of the guys told him a story about a twin turboed Lambo that recently went up against a Dodge Demon (yeah, that car) and beat it by a "bus length" in less than a 1/4 mile blast. Ray called BS. No way he said. So, the storyteller makes a call, and about an hour later a flat gray Lambo shows up (with a 3 year old in a car seat on the passenger side). Car was built by Underground Racing in N. C. Cost for the upgrade (not including the car) was $175k. Has three tunes, and currently running on the least powerful (91 pump gas). Reportedly putting down 950 to the wheels. The avgas tune puts down 1250 to the wheels. You can't say "rear wheels" as it is all wheel drive. He has been driving it for about a year, and not one issue. No "check engine" light, or any other problems. Long story short. He left his daughter at Chuck's place for a while, and took Ray for a ride. They were gone about 20 min. Ray is now a believer. I neglected to take my camera (duma$$) and took some photos with my phone. As soon as I figure out how to get them from my phone to the computer (smart phone, dumb operator) I will post some pics.

You will have to wait until Sherri gets a chance to download pics of the Lambo.
Here a the only two I have right now. First one is on Chuck's lift. Guy named DJ just inherited from his dad. Almost bone stock, except for some internal engine mods and a color change. They were checking out an oil leak. Chuck added a three car garage on the end of his existing garage. Very cool set up. Second one is a pic of Chuck's pair out in the front yard.

Chuck just emailed me some photos from yesterday. He and his wife are on there way over here right now. We are headed to this production this afternoon: http://www.thepollard.org/secondary....atid=13&id=335
There is always something cool going on here in Guthrie. Here you go. Be glad to provide explanations of each one if anyone has questions. The little red roadster is Sherri's MRoadster. It is a pristine example, but really the ugly ducking of this gathering. The small black car is a carbon fiber Noble with a twin turbo 500 hp V6. Only weighs 2400 pounds. The guy in the driver's seat is the owner. Has to carry oxygen with him, but still working on cars. He is currently restoring a Pantera. Has owned several. A few years ago he drove his LS3 powerd Miata. Very clean swap. Enjoy.

Yup.
"....about an hour later a flat gray Lambo shows up (with a 3 year old in a car seat on the passenger side)." He left the 3 year old with us at the house while he tood Ray for a ride. Put the car seat back in, then his daughter, and headed home.
