Darn, I thought you picked it up. Given you were in the area (I was guessing) thought you bought it.

I appreciate that. I was initially contacted to appraise the car for the estate (www.myvintageviewpoint.com). As much as I love some of these cars I look at, I have to be very mindful of the ethical logistics. There’s an obvious conflict of interest in setting a value and then using it to purchase for yourself. This car was as close as I’ve come to having to navigate that minefield in several years. I did my best to find it a good home, and it ended up going to a friend of a (local Yenko.net) friend, after the very nice sellers had their fill of screening potential Craigslist suitors.

FYI, my friend bought the 1969 Corvette and told me it was ok to post the journey to get it back driving down the road again in the Technical and Restoration section.
Thanks, Mike

Curious what got the luggage rack on these cars? Was it an RPO or a dealer installed item? Sure seem to see many of them to be dealer installed. Never seen any original docs that show it.

I had to post a picture of my twin. This car was ordered nearly identical and is also a Survivor. I sold it to a high school friend in Chicago in 1990 and he still owns it. It was one of the best Corvettes I've ever owned.

Default Luggage rack detail

We have taken the luggage rack off to better polish the paint underneath. The luggage rack was a dealer install item. It attaches to the body with round rubber sleeved brass nuts like are used attaching voltage regulators to radiator supports. Attached is an original photo of the car pre-luggage rack. I will be posting more pictures in the Technical and Restoration section.
Enjoy Mike
