So here is a question, if buying a vehicle from a private party out of state how do you typically manage the transaction? Obviously I would have to pay for the vehicle before I got the title but how do you minimize risk ? I have checked out the seller on the line and he seems to be legitimate but just want to be cautious

Road runner transport has done good for me.

Have the seller overnight the title to you.

If you are really concerned about the seller you can contact an attorney in his area and have him do the transaction for you in his office. You can wire him the funds which he will give the seller as the seller gives him the title.

Don't go open - go direct enclosed

Don't use a broker - deal directly with someone who hauls.

Either you trust the Seller or you don't.

Safest & cheapest way to pay is by bank wire transfer.

Seller then sends you executed title overnight.

Thank you for taking time to refer a reputable shipper to me. My 1986 K10 (not a muscle car but certainly coming up in value) was picked up in GA on Thursday night and dropped at my door Saturday at 2pm in Douglas MA (south of Worcester). Roy called the seller, coordinated pick up and stayed on top of this the whole way. Cannot say enough about the transaction. Driver was great, texted me when he was an hour out. Even pulled the trim rings and center caps off the truck as he said they can come off in transit. I know most guys would do this but I am sure some won't.
If you want to avoid the trouble of vetting a good shipper to work with, X2 on this recommendation for Roy, thank you Crush for taking a minute for the information.
