I still have these plates ...
picture from July 1974 at a 50's party at General Motors Institute my neighbor worked at the Secretary of State's office and pulled the plates out of sequence (before the real personalized plates) for me knowing I had a 302 in my 56 I have moved the Beach City Chevrolet frames to a deserving vehicle some time ago (from this site) I could probably be talked out of the plates :-)

I've noticed a lot of custom California black plates lately on LA craigslist. Somebody is ordering them and then trying to sell them off. They all seem to be geared towards muscle car combinations. I didn't think you could just order a plate from the DMV or AAA and sit on it. From what I understood it has to be assigned to a vehicle in a certain amount of time, otherwise you forfeit them. It's an interesting twist on somebody trying to make money. I would think if the State actually knew this was going on they would nix it. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif[/img]
