Jeff Maul Collection at Mecum's Jan auction
anyone familiar with the camaro's in the jeff mauk collection that is going thru mecum?
some good looking cars - but hard to tell from the description what is born with or not. I may bid by phone, but wanted to get some personal insight to the quality of the camaro's. Specifically looking for a 396/375 - SS or RS/SS car.

I don't want to rain on your parade and I do love watching Mecum auctions (the head auctioneer - Jimmy Landis - is from my area...my wife used to work at the same auction he did).
I was interested in a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 (Atlanta build) in the Eddie Vannoy Collection last summer 2020. I called Mecum and spoke with the contact for Mecum about bidding on the car, etc. I was disappointed that Mecum usually doesn't take photos of the undercarriage (but they might if you ask them to). No luck in my case. As it turned out, the Chevelle went for $90,000!!! Bidders at auctions can sometimes go insane, is all I can say. Nice car, but not worth those kind of dollars. So, just be carefull and make sure you are getting what you might very well overpay for! Good luck though, John |

Eddie,
If you are serious surely there’s someone on Yenko, Team Chevelle, or Old Chevelles who live in Florida who might be able to inspect the cars for you. I’m from Florida but live in PA now or I’d be happy to help out. I can post on Old Chevelles as I have some Florida friends on there. I helped a guy in CA 10+ years ago by looking at a BMW E30 M3 for him about an hour & a half from me here in PA. Drove the car put it on a lift talked with the owner, and reported back to the buyer. He bought the car! As I recall he mailed me a thank you card with a $100 bill inside. That was not expected! |
