Way cool article, and a fast car no doubt, but doesn't 12.00 @ 115 fall pretty far short of the 11.50/120 garuntee?

So when the 455 came out with the MarkIV Ram Air, A beefed lower end, And a carter high riser set up, I was online! 390 HP. 500! Foot lbs of torque. Whatever that is.

I think that guarantee applied to the Phase III cars and above.

If I remember correctly, the money-back performance warranty was offered first in 1968 on Phase III 427 Camaros and then extended to Nova and Chevelle models. I don't recall the Phase III Corvette being included unless it was a track-prepared car.
I drove and photographed the Corvette in the article that Joe Oldham wrote and it was a pretty normal street model.
