Default Photos of 1969 ZL-1 #18 as a drag car

1969 ZL-1 #18 is for sale here in the classified section

here are some cool photos of it that were posted on FB when it was a drag car

I have been collecting pictures of the 1969 ZL-1 drag cars and surprised how many were raced at least for a short time.

Great pictures of a powerful Camaro that was designed and built by Chevy. To bad the blocks had bad piston ring seal blow by problems though. Quick no doubt.

Didn't think it was all that bad myself? Mine made 785Hp at 7200 and modeling showed it should have made 804Hp at 7200. The Hp and tq numbers were within a couple of number to 6300. I'm down 19 Hp at 7200 and down 12 Hp at 6500.

In drag racing form according to Bill Grump Jenkins, the ZL-1 Blocks were a problem with ring seal and blow by problems. The Can Am Blocks were better. I have no doubt they made the horsepower numbers as you stated here. It was just inconsistency issues with this ring seal problem.
