Default '74 SD Trans Am - Courtesy Pontiac

Picked up this '74 Trans Am. Originally delivered at Courtesy Pontiac in Memphis, Tenn. This picture is from the original owner who moved to Arizona with the car.

The car lost the Courtesy emblem somewhere along the way. Would anyone have one of these Courtesy emblems that they are willing to part with?

Looks like it's made of plastic,as opposed to the pot metal cursive ones I have.

Actually a very nice unmolested SD Trans Am. Still wears it's original paint. 72k miles. Automatic A/C car. A/C even blows cold & never converted!

This was kind of interesting (at least to me). I was concerned that the car had been re-painted or touched up at some point because of the overspray on the gas tank straps. James Groome informed me that the straps were on the car when the body was painted (straps were attached at one end without the tank installed), so it's not uncommon to see that overspray on original second gens.

Yes, the tank straps were hanging when the car was painted. Looks nice! How is the front valance on the car? They were a polyethylene type plastic and tend to crack in the corners and at the mounting points.

Got any engine compartment photos?

Does the fuel gauge work? I ask because that wire with the star washer terminal end is the ground for the fuel tank sender. It should be screwed to the backside of the bulkhead there somewhere on the side that faces the tank.

Thanks Steve. The only cracks that I can see are in the front lower filler panel. Doesn't look like it was hit - just cracking in a few places. Fuel gauge works - must be picking up a ground from somewhere. I have the car in Florida right now - love to have you evaluate it when it gets back up north. I hear that you know a little about these SD cars! SD Engine has been rebuilt bone stock. All major components are correct. I've got the correct alternator being restored. I sent the carb out to Eric last week.

I'd love to check it out. When is it coming up north?

I may have something you can use for a do-it-yourself battery project: It's an original display (empty) Delco Freedom battery case. Perfect candidate to open the bottom and have a small AGM battery put inside it. These were used from 74 to 77 IIRC.

I originaly got it for Enrico's 73 but it turned out to be a year too new for it.
