Heater box stayed the same in BB or SB for a 70 Chevelle

I have never heard of a wagon with an SS option for 1970.

It’s definitely not an “SS” wagon but if it was a real big block optioned car, it would be the LS3 402.

Oops 67ss the article does state the hood was added but it indicates it came from the factory with the 396, 4 speed and bench seat:

"Chevrolet built 40,612 Chevelle wagons in 1970, out of a total over 160,000 total wagons for the model year. Of those, only 2200 were 8-cylinder Concours Estate wagons like the one pictured here. Add in that it’s a 350hp 396 under the hood and a four-speed bench seat ride, and well, you’ve got yourself one rare ride right there."

As noted, the only year they ever made a Chevelle SS wagon was 1973.

They say someone removed the wood grain sides and installed SS badging.

Guessing about 120 trim holes to weld shut, they really wanted that woodgrain gone!!

Cool wagon, and if it was born LS3/M20 very rare.
