It all depends on if GM would allow the first Camaro out. It was at SEMA this year and has been at other shows in the past.

How about one of the strongest offerings from our friends north of the border?

If this display is for the 50th Anniversary of the Camaro & Firebird then shouldnt it be just for the 67's? This would be my top 12 if that were the case for Camaro..

1. #1 Z
2. Little Hoss
3. Penske/Donohue
4. Cherokee
5. Yenko (pick one)
6. Motion (pick one)
7. Dana (pick one)
8. Pacer #1
9. Pilot car #1
10. L78 coupe (pick one)
11. L78 vert (pick one)
12. Grumpy's Toy

"The red/red 67 SS/350 serial # 0000001 that was in Hot Rod Magazine"...I assume then that there are two #1 camaros? One norwood and one LA ? Im guessing there would be two #1 firebirds as well, one V8 and one 6 cylinder since built in separate plants ? If so, whos to say which is the actual #1 if there are two, cant really go by build date, since the first #1 is equivalent to the second #1 regardless of date IMO

I rethought my list, as I missed the point of performance

1. 69 ZL1. I think the blue RS is the best choice
2. 69 Stock iron block copo 427 (survivor would be cool). Non Yenko
3 A 68 copo (i.e. a 68 yenko camaro)
4. 69 L89 pace car convert. I pick the pace car convert as you get the ZL2 hood, most L89 coupes I have seen dont have that performance hood.
5. 68 L89 coupe or convert
6. 67 L78 (the batcar should cover this nicely)
7. 67 Z28
8. 69 z28 with JL8
9. A Thomas-Nickey. Must be a Bill Thomas version, where it all started.
10 A Motion
11 A Dana (the orange one we all love should work)
12 67 Yenko
13 69 Yenko

Forget the special drag cars, or the concept show cars, or the road race cars. Its a muscle car show/venue.

Agreed.
I've never seen that 67 Firebird pacer before.
I'd suggest Jon's 67Z (#1), the 67 IPC #1 (probably first L78) or Grump's L78 (first available L78).
