Default New Muscle at the Auto Show

I went to the Cleveland Auto Show today. The only two new musclecars that really "trip my trigger" are the new mid engine Chevy Corvette and the Dodge Challenger RT Scat Pack Wide Body with the 392 Hemi. I am not a Mopar guy but I have to tell you I really like that Challenger Wide Body. A buddy of mine just bought one in Octane Red. It is sweet and fast.

I never was much of a vette guy either but I really like what they did with the new vettes. The Camaros and Mustangs do absolutely nothing for me.

Any thoughts??

Rich

Do they still have old cars in the show?
When I had a Booth there they were letting classics in. That’s where I saw the paint Delete big block vette.

Rented the base Hemi R/T twice from Hertz in recent months and had a blast. 375hp but really fun.

Yes, they still have a hall for the classic cars. I go through it but it is mostly all local cars that I know and see around here at local shows.

The 2020 Challenger seems basically the same as the 2019..

If you don't mind me asking, how bad was the rental fee for that??

39 bucks/day* for the first, at Hertz Sacramento Airport, because they said "everyone wants sedans." Second one was in the 50-dollar range at Oakland Airport and on that one they offered the Hemi Chally as an upgrade from the Eco Mustang I was expecting.

*Gas fill-up was 45 bucks right before I turned the car in. LOL!

By the way, the fun cars are in Hertz's "Adrenaline Collection" when you book online. I think there's a "Dream Machines" level too but not all locations have that option.

One year out freight was delayed up north in the weather, so we were on the clock, ahad nothing to do. I had my lead guy take us junk Yarding. I found a 3/4” sway bar and formula steering wheel I had leather wrapped. Getting paid to junk yard, priceless. Good times. Someone stepped in some kind of dog shit, the rental car stunk all week. Lmao.
The IX center is an awesome complex, built Tanks during the war I was told. The place is just huge.

Yes it was a tank plant during the war. It is a nice facility.

I've recently thought of picking up an early Challenger, one of the original 2008-2009 Hemi Orange ones, but dang, they are pricey for being an 11 or 12 year old car. Most that I've seen are still in the $20K range. For that price, it just doesn't make sense to get one when you can get a 20-teen Camaro SS or GT/5.0.
