Default Ft. Sill, OK - anyone there?

The Army changed the orders and doesn't send us to Ft. Campbell KY/TN.
They send us to Ft. Sill, OK instead.

Does anyone live there?
Any info on "how" is living there?

Thanks' fellas

Hey Jochen - sounds like the Army is changing their minds - how original!

I don't know that area - sorry.

Say "hey" to your honey for me.

Hey Sam,

yes they changed their mind. But we have to deal with it.

The good news, Phoenix AZ is only a 15 hours drive now

Jess said "thanks" and "hey too"

I'm looking for a full-time Job between Lawton, OK and Wichita Falls, TX.

I used to work as a Mechanic, Service Advisor, Service Manager, Service Trainer and Test Driver for Mercedes-Benz before I start working as a Automotive Inspector for the US-Gov.

Best date for start working will be the 15th of November.

Full resume available upon request; please send your e-mail via PM.

I'm thankfull for any shot in my direction.

We consider to live in Wichita Falls, TX. Perhaps anyone knows something there...

Thanks in advance!!!

Oh man... what a time here in SW Oklahoma. So far we had - and still have - scorpions, spiders, t-storms and earthquakes. Only things missing are snakes and tornados...

Wife finally goes on a "business trip" and my job situation is not really better. Hope it will chance since I take classes with a distance learning school...

I also think about to sell some guns as well as the Ram, don't really need 2 cars for myself...

My mother grew up in Lawton. She met my dad at Ft. Sill right after WWII. I live in OKC. My youngest son did his basic training at Ft. Sill in 2001. Yeah, great timing; he got out of basic right before 9-11.

Still missing snakes and tornados, huh? There should be plenty of rattlesnakes. You just aren't looking in the right places. You didn't complain of the triple digit temps, so you must be from the desert.

Don't worry, if you are still here in the spring, you WILL experience tornado season. Sometimes we get them in the fall, but mostly in May. BTW, you won't escape tornados by going to Wichita Falls. They had huge tornados rip through there in the mid sixties and again in the late 70's.

Good luck on the job search.

Well Lynn, I didn't mean I want to see tornados and snakes... I just meant this is stuff I didn't see yet.

We will move on post if the time/housing is right. Wichita Falls is with 60mls one way still too far for a job. Guess I have to stick around Lawton...

I don't complain abt. the triple digit temps because I like heat and hate cold
When we are done here we will move to the Phoenix, AZ area... yes... desert... awesome.
