My CCW proposal made it to D.C.
Since a few month I'm working on a proposal that would allow your current permit to be recognized in all 50 states. A few weeks ago I finally sent the 4-page proposal off to Senator Tom Coburn M.D. (R-Okla.). Today I got a call from his office. His assistant caught me totally off guard since I honestly didn't expect much response.
After a couple questions and some small talk he said he will forward this to the Senators desk so he can look at it. Not sure if this is good or bad but I'm happy my letter made it to D.C. Re: My CCW proposal made it to D.C.
Good luck, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. States like California, New York, Mass, Maryland, Illinois are not going to recognize others states licenses anytime soon. Given that, I choose to stay out of those states and spend my money elsewhere, unless there is no way I can avoid them and that would be only to pass through.
Things are starting to get interesting in New York and soon Connecticut that are starting to demand registration. Here is a link to states and reciprocity with other states. http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/USSt...tateHonors.pdf |

Good luck...current climate concerning guns will prevent this from happening...though I truly wish it was different.

Re: My CCW proposal made it to D.C.
Thanks guys.
Not sure what the big house in D.C. is thinking. But Mr. Coburn doesn't like to put in for federal laws anyways his assistant told me. He rather wants to create state laws and that other states implement them in their state as well. I'm just happy that my simple idea went that far. I honestly thought it was going straight to file 13. But now we'll go from here and see what happens. Time that common sense prevails again! |

Don't forget New Jersey. They're pretty tough here. Its even hard to bring your gun to the range. If you stop for gas or food after or before with your gun in the car, that's breaking the law.
