We're moving forward! Soon the population of Walnut Springs, TX will not be 860. Oh no...it'll be a census-breaking 862!! 864 if you count the two horses.

Anywho, we settled on a builder and after sitting down with my Crayola "big box" 64 color set, we designed our lot with about twenty different changes until finally we got the design perfect. Once the soil samples were taken, the well went in and power shortly followed!

Once this lot plan was designed, we proceeded to lay the driveway out on property with those little flags that construction guys use to mark utility lines...or the police use to mark crime scene evidence. Either way, it's marked! Now, me being me and not wanting the concrete guy to come in and not understand where everything goes or somehow misread my flag layout, I proceeded to Lowe's and bought a YardKing 3200 22" 3hp mower with side discharge shoot and proceeded to mow the entire driveway out by hand. Yes, the grass was 3ft tall and yes, spiders are really, really big down here, but the end result was a perfectly laid out driveway so the concrete guy could come in and lay down the crushed concrete base. Did it take two 9hr day's? No. It took 3 10hr days.

So here's some pics of the land with the last shot being an aerial view of the driveway base laid down. Also, having 10 acres, we're gonna need tractor junk and such. The first step is a John Deere commercial grade Z915E zero-turn mower. And i'm telling you... these things are fun!! I couldn't get Kelly off the thing! So back to the hand mower went. Hmmmm....I know there's a hidden joke in there somewhere

What's up next? We're buying an RV to stay on property and the foundations for the shop, barn, and paint booth will be going in this month. We'll be breaking ground on the house by the end of the month!

More updates to follow!

Cheers
Dave

PS; of course I need to get a MCACN plug in here, so sporting the offical t-shirt, we went hiking at Meridian State Park and took a selfie. Now, this area is famous for Dinosaur fossils. I'm hoping to discover a new species called the "Daveasaurus Rex" and make millions! But somehow, i'm thinking they may not happen so I'm keeping the day job!

But, of course! I'm planning hosting a Mini-MCACN-Super Car Reunion-Yenko.net show to end all shows once done! Bee on the lookout for invitations! I'll be offering free, same day motorized horseless carriage travel from Dallas' new Ft. Worth Aerodrome! With rare enclosed climatized comfort!

More updates the follow in the coming months. They'll be timeless instructional threads such as "So you decided installing a fence yourself was a good idea" and "Tractors: Not for people from New Jersey"

Cheers
Dave

Thanks men! Modern day Green Acres, huh? Maybe, Doug. I am a crazy Hungarian, so that part is taken care of!

Cheers

You'll need a small telephone pole that you have to climb up to use your cell phone...when the need arises!
