Default '68 Impala SS427/4-sp Convertible, GM of Canada Docs

CE block, but looks like a nice car. Pretty rare for '68 with 1778 SS427s built (all body styles).

Cool car also nicely equipped, pretty sure we've looked at this one here in the past?

Must have lost it's correct 4 speed air cleaner along the way . That would be a blast to drive ! Three pedals & drop top , doesn't get much better .

I've seen two air cleaners on these cars. The shorter style on this car (broad race track shaped oval) that points directly to the passenger fender.
The second one is longer and starts at the air cleaner as an oval but ends up more circular at the tip....it also points towards the battery rather than directly towards the fender.
The second style looks very similar to the one on my non cowl induction LS6, but the LS6 is a dual snorkel.

Is the second style unique to a 4 spd?

4 speed air cleaner has the same short large oval but is angled down closer to the valve cover & has no thermac valving & heat riser tube from the manifold . The second one that you speak of (i think ) is for the 396 cars .
