Yeah it's a long one but fascinating. You've got literally all these current / past owners of Hemi Darts participating. That reminds me I have another long thread that I bet a lot of you have never read, I'll like that one too.

I thought "LO" signified a Hemi Dart, no?

Yes, it's a LO23 car but he was unable for many years to figure out which car it was. By the end of his search he found which car it was based on some pictures, car had a unique dent and ran a particular set of wheels in the early 70s.

“Dandy Daryl” is good at figuring stuff out…remember, he discovered his first Dart was Landy’s!

Sounds like my story. I bought an LO23 Hemi Dart from a bracket racer in CT, in the late 1980's back before there was any interwebs. It came with all sorts of weird spare parts including an NOS 1970-dated block (FYI supposedly there were never any blocks made in 1970, all the 70 and 71 cars had 1969 dated castings because the foundry made so many extra. It must have been a "back-door" speed part from Dodge). There were also boxes with "Dick Landy Industries" plastered all over the outside. Stoooopid me just figured that a prior owner just happened to buy a lot of stuff there.

DOH!

Years later, long after I sold it. It turned out to be Dick Landy's actual 4-speed Hemi Dart race car. Had I only scuffed through the door jamb paint I would have found his original paint job remnants under there.

Geeze, seriously Steve?! That’s amazing! You’ve had some incredible Mopes. Couple only dream of finding something like that by happenstance.

Cheers
Dave

These cars scarred me at an early age. One of my best friends (older brother) had bought Bob Lambeck's LO23 when I as about 14-15 YO. They campaigned the car for a few years, and then moved to an old pro stock Arrow. The offered the car to me, and would help me put together a motor for it. Mind you, I am 18 at this time and still living at home.

As you can imagine, the conversation with my Dad started out like........."there is no F'n way you are buying a car like that while living under my roof"

I showed the car to my Dad when it was shown at MCACN (I suspect around 2016?) He looked it ALL over, and proceeded to buy me a beer. Probably hoping I shut up

The 2nd pic is when Quaden's had it, the last is when it was a MCACN
