Anyone know this car?
My father owned a 1962 Impala 2 door VIN#21847J181843 (non-SS) 409/409 Nausau Blue/Blue bench seat interior back in the early 80's in Chicago area. He bought from his Cousin who ordered new. My dad sold car around 1981 to southern Illinois dealer who re-sold to Carl Bolander in Chicago area shortly afterwards who owned the car from about 1981 until about 1994. Carl sold it to a guy named Ken Aldridge around 94. Evidently Ken restored the car sold the 409 to a collector sometime around 1999. Car had a replacement block in 1981.
I am curious if anyone knows where this car is now located. |

Re: Anyone know this car?
-----Hi Jake,,,Hope you have some luck in the search as the old 62 was one super-duper 409. For the rest of the board, Jake was brought up in a really heavy duty gear-head family. His Dad was one of my first close friends in Chicago. Both Jake and his younger brother learned early from an absolutely great Dad the GM muscle mantra. I hope someone has info on his Dads old 409 as the car is steeped in really cool stories. The car was one bad boy back in the day.
-----I just realized the other day that you had E-mailed me, Jake. Im sorry for the delay. It was obviously not intentional.........Bill S |

Re: Anyone know this car?
Thanks Bill. I appreciate the kind comments. Per the original post I was able to track the car through 1999 via some phone calls with Carl Bolander. I posted a thread on the 348-409 site with no luck. From what I can see here, someone on this site would probably have a much better chance of knowing where it is. You are absolutley correct on the stories, we were reminiscing about that car last weekend on the way back from Jefferson (in the rain).

I like to hear stories like this. Very cool. I am happy for your father. Good job, you must be the "good son".

Re: Anyone know this car?
"Reunited"--does that mean your dad bought the car back? Looks like keys being handed-over in the photo.
