1979 Trans Am
So looking for a little advise here. I am Not a Pontiac Man per say, but what is a 1 owner Brown inside and out, 1979 Trans Am, Loaded, 301 Automatic worth with 30,000 miles that has not run in 25 years worth? I appreciate any comments, Thank You. Bill

A brown '79 301 automatic car is pretty much at the bottom of the 1970-81 T/A pecking order. Personally, I wouldn't take one if someone offered it to me for free and I love Trans Ams - have had a dozen of them, but ALL 4-speed big blocks.
However if its low-mile and a nice cream puff you can get for next to nothing, you might be able to flip it for a few bucks, if that is your goal. But Caveat Emptor.

Better to pick yourself up a late model Honda Accord instead.

The 301 really drags it down in value/desirability. Then throw in the fact that it hasn't run in 25 yrs and all 2 miles worth of vacuum hoses are probably brittle from age, and you could have a real project on your hands.

Contrary to what's been written here, I actually like the brown color on 2nd gen T/A's. I've seen a number for sale on FB, but most were running and in decent shape.
I'd need to see pics before saying anything confidently, but it seems like any decent condition later 2nd gen T/A is worth some cash. Could be between $3000 and $15000, depending on the true condition.

If it is truly a 30,000 mile garage kept well preserved car that has been sitting unstarted for 25 years... I'd pay $5000 if it was local and engine not seized.
Last March I sold an '81 turbo car that was pretty nice daily driver with T-Tops and great colors for 20k.

In 1980 Browns (see Dark Brown code 67, or Rust code 80 or Dark Claret code 76 etc.) and Dark Reds were pretty popular. I am wondering which hue the subject car wears.

I'd be interested in buying that car, easy peasy to swap out that 301....
