iNTERESTING BLOCK
L88 BLOCK
Interesting casting date and casting number for sure. If i had to guess id say it was a 3916321 with the 1 6 and 2 redone in silly putty and the year of the block removed to have the second number in the day become the year . Shame to waste a 68 427 when you can change a few more numbers and use a cheap 961 396 block,

Re: iNTERESTING BLOCK
If that were a real casting date, it would be about the earliest '67 351 block I've seen. I have '67 #350 and #663, the casting dates are H66 and H86.

Re: iNTERESTING BLOCK
I have the earliest known 3904351 ,it is F56, it had 66 dated May 66 #858 heads on it when found. Oddly it was a true 351 block not a 942 that the factory resurfaced and hand stamped the casting # in, like many of the earliest 67 corvette 427 had. I believe Nolan Adams book had G16 as the earliest known

Re: INTERESTING BLOCK
Those numbers were definitely put on with play dough it looks like! My buddy has a 3904351 4 bolt block that I'm buying and the casting numbers other than the three look nothing like that! What a shame how people try to get over to make a buck!

Curious, is there a way to tell that it was a 3904351 casting originally as opposed to the 942?
