Default Here is my 69 I'm restoring

I bought this car last summer from a guy I work with. He bought in it the mid 1970's drove it to work for 4 or 5 years then blew the original 396. He replaced the 396 with a 402 and give the 396 away. It set in a field for 30 years before I bought it. It is an original monago (hugger) orange paint code. The car came with a bench seat and power windows which seems odd to me. I was told the car was a 350 hp engine. It didn't come with the original trans or engine but it does have the original posi 12 bolt. The car needed quarters, trunk and floors pans. I took the body to the AMD installation in Cleveland Ga. Here a few pics. I started this project 11 months ago. I'm far from done but I feel like I have come a long way in a short time.

Here is picking up the car from Craig Hopkins at AMD

I had the frame powdered coated put the suspension back together. The car been blocked sanded and is awaiting paint. I built a 427 for it and picked a M22 last weekend. I decide to convert it over to a 4 speed

The car was originally monago orange (code 72). But since it doesn't have it's original drivetrain I'm thinking I would like garnet red better. I have been torn about the color.

I'd keep it code 72 Monaco Orange.
Only Super Sports got that new color originally so it helps cement it's authenticity.
And even more so that it doesn't have it's original drivetrain.

Totally agree -- retains its authenticity. There are a lot of red ones out there already -- the Monaco Orange is unique ... TAZ

Love, Love, Love G Red, but if you're soliciting opinions, the two sage responses above are worth your consideration. Besides M. Orange looks just stunning on a '69 Chevelle!
