From what I recall...

This Judge was owned by the second owner up until a couple years ago. The second owner passed away, leaving the car to his daughter. The original owner remained in contact with the daughter, and was told that if the car was ever put up for sale, he would get first shot. Well, not surprisingly, the daughter went for the money, and put the car up on E-Bay.

The hood, driver's quarter, and driver's fender were once repainted, but everything else (including the decals) is original.

The SR block kills the value, but it's still a fantastic car, and a true time machine. Great color scheme too.

Good info. Thanks. Curious why a documented SR block "kills the value". Everyone wants the born with engine, but a documented service replacement isn't so bad IMO.

Most RA IV 4 Speed cars have SR engines. It is extremely rare to find an original engine car. From what I have seen at auction, the SR block has very little effect on price. JMO, Ed

Personally I don't mind an SR block, but there are so few original RAIV cars with their "born with" engines left in the world, I would think a matching numbers 70 RAIV Judge would be that much more valuable, and far rarer, than an SR block car.

I think this car sold for around $50K last time around, and the Judge fans blamed the low price on the fact it was an SR block.

Obviously, the SR block isn't as important this time around, or perhaps it's because the economy is doing so much better, according to the media.

I love Pontiacs but those cast iron connecting rods don't go like missed shifts in the four speed cars!

Born with engines are a major factor in value with Poncho-files - even worse than the hemi Mopar guys. Because of those crazy cast rods, the vast majority of Pontiac round port cars RAII, RAIII, RAIV, and 455HO succumbed early. Even the SD455s with their forged rods lost quite a few brethren very early in life. The RAIV GTOs which had mandatory 3.90 or 4.33 gears were particularly prone. There is no forgiving a missed shift with those gears in a low reving Pontiac motor.

I do. Like Mike said, it was for sale by the 2nd owners daughter here in OK a couple years ago. We went to inspect it, push it up on a trailer, and deliver it to the current owner. Her Dad owned it a long time and it was emotional for her to sell, she cried when it left.
