Default Factory Tach Repair (Circuit Board Replacment)

Does anyone have pictures of the 69 Camaro factory tach disassembly once it's out of the dash? Mine stopped working. I pulled it out and did a cursory look over it and didn't see anything wrong. More than likely I'll buy a board from "cajuntachshop" on eBay and swap it out. Before I do I'd like to see a couple pics of the swap. I have an electronics background so this kind of thing doesn't scare me.
I have the AC Tach Repair Man from 1967, but I'd like to see a pic or two of the actual breakdown if someone has it.
Also, I have an a/m tach in there temporarily so I know the wiring is good.

This is the best pic I have for now. I took the two spade connectors off and the three nuts to pull the first part off, but that's as far as I went. It looks like the third one might have a rivet that needs to be drilled before the rest will come apart.

Sorry, no pic. I don't believe I have ever had one apart.
Would be interested in a "how to" as I plan to put one of the same kits you referenced in mine. Mine still works, but reads high.

When I'm home this weekend, I'll try to put something together. I'm surprised this is dark territory. What worries me is, I emailed the seller with a picture of my tach and he responded, "oh, that one is different." Uh, no... It's a stock 69 Camaro tach. The add was for a 69 Camaro tach circuit board. We'll see what happens soon.

Hi I have installed the aftermarket circuit board in my tach 3 years ago. I do have a few pics on my phone. You can pm me a cell number and I will text them to you if you want but I don't remember it being all that difficult Ron

Thanks for the offer! I literally just took mine apart and took the pics. It was definitely easy and nobody should be intimidated by doing their own. Once you pull the back off, the board pulls off three pins. Two wires are attached with push pins also. Pay attention to which pins you pull each wire off. One is black, one is white. As long as the circuit board I receive is what the seller claims, and I have no reason to doubt it is, it will take me five minutes or less to swap out the boards.
I'm going to trouble shoot my board and see what part failed. I'll probably throw it back in if I'm able to easily fix it.

Wow, that was quick. Ordered the board on Wednesday and it just came in the mail today. Final install pics below. $29 all in for the repair... Nice quality part from Cajuntachshop on eBay. One thing I'm going to mention to him is that the variable pot is a little bit in the way for a clean install. It's not a big deal, but you have to push the pins over a little to get it to fit.

I bought the same kit. Posted this on TC earlier today.

I recently purchased a new circuit board from Greg on ebay: $25 and free shipping. What a deal: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-69-77-G...53.m2749.l2649

I swapped it out last night. The only thing I want to point out is that I had to gently squeeze all of the female bullet connectors to insure a tight fit on the new board. Other than that, install was very straight forward.

Started the car to make sure the tach worked (it did) and then finished putting things back together. For you slim dextrous guys, you might be able to pull the tach without pulling the radio, but not me. To pull the radio, I had to pull the add on gauges below the radio, meaining I had to put all that back together. Not a big deal, but just 9 weeks after a reverse total shoulder joint replacement, not a pleasant task.

Came home from work early today and took the car for a drive. Had a blast. Burnt some rubber (at least one perk of the insane covid-19 restrictions is that there is less traffic). But, my tach reads even HIGHER than it did before. I sent Greg a message asking what to do. I suspect he will advise that I send him the tach for repair.

I did notice that on the white wire going to the circuit board, there is an in line resistor. I assume that is the resistor that gets replaced by the "adjustable" resistor referred to in the bulliten.

Anyone do this? Of course, I can send it in, but come on. I do almost EVERYTHING myself on my cars. There has to be a way to get this done.

Is that small brass screw in the blue part an adjustment?

Anyone know?

Haven't heard back from Greg (the seller) yet.

That appears to be a variable resistor. Probably for calibrating the movement.
