Thanks for all of the feedback on Don Krebs albeit, none of it being good news. I used a credit card for payment, so hopefully it will be possible to do a chargeback although perhaps at this point the cc company will say it's been too long.

Charlie did my L89 Corvette belts (which were in decent condition) He did a great job, but he is the definition of “nickle and dime you to death”.
America’s finest Corvettes in Ramona did my other Corvette belts and they turned out great for around $400.
However, I’m not sure I’d send a rare or valuable set to the guy. I vaguely remember having to bug the guy to get them back.

Anyone who needs assistance with Charlie, feel free to reach out. We’ve been friends for like 15 years. He can be challenging but quality is outstanding

With all due respect Dan, my friend Dane H. (who you know) is also best friends with Charley & Dane made the phone call to Charley when I needed mine done & he still wasted my time. I sent him detailed photo's specifically to avoid all of this.

Sounds to me like there's no clear winner in this game

I had three sets of belts done by charley (seatbelt sity). Two sets were done nicely and the third set that was the most important was so so. He stitched the date tags and warning tags on the opposite sides. I took them to my local upholstery shop that specializes in high end European stuff and they were able to switch them. The other issue was he was too lazy to change his bobbing thread to black or properly adjust his machine so what he thought would be and acceptable fix was to sharpie the white thread the came through. I now know that sharpie doesn’t match black webbing and stick out like a sore thumb. Fortunately the upholstery shop took care of it pro bono and got it all squared away so I would have to listen to him. Using him for the next set I have to do, I might question and look else where… just my personal experience with him. I guess 2/3 sets ain’t bad compared to some of the other folks stories regarding the issue….
