Default 1965-1970 Camaro Chevelle Nova NOS GM Manual Steering Box.

NOS GM manual steering box. It is a dealer take-off when the car was new to switch over to power steering. The brown stuff is the factory assembly line cosmoline. This is a 24:1 standard ratio and the box has 6.5 turns lock to lock.

The machined pad has a Julian of 2316 (which is August 19th, 1966). There are 6.5 turns lock to lock. It turns freely, but after 50 + years of sitting it feels like the grease is dried up. New grease should be added before using.

1967-1969 Camaro (Except Special Steering).
1964-1969 Chevelle, Malibu, + El Camino.
1968-1970 ChevyII Nova.
1965-1969 Impala, Caprice, Biscayne, + Bel-Air.
1964-1968 Cutlass, F85, + 442 (Except Heavy Duty).
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass + 442 (Except Heavy Duty).
1965-1968 Buick Skylark, Special, + Gran Sport.

****************SOLD****************

Thanks, Sam

Hello Bill,
Yes, it does look to be the box that fits your 1967 Olds Cutlass. I just updated the applications as it will also fit Camaro and Nova. It is a standard ratio 24:1. Take a peek under the hood to verify that yours is the same.

Thanks, Sam

Default Manual steering box.

Glad that you got the old one working again. I remember when I got my first car(1968 Camaro) the manual box was so loose that it had to herded down the road. Must have had a half a turn where the wheels did not move.

Thankfully I did not have to drive it. Dad drove it straight to the high school auto shop where he was the teacher. It was first item in order that I replaced on the car.
