Re: Cam question
Joe -- if it runs the way you want it and if it ain't broke ... don't mess with it ... leave it alone. TAZ

Re: Cam question
Oh, I didn't plan on it. I was just wondering what bracket of radical it'd be in. Mild-lumpy-radical are my 3 categories, not sure where it'd fall. If it ever needed to be replaced, it'd get the exact same cam jammed back in it.

A dream I've just thought up.
As some of you know, I'm 16. Well, I turn 17 in about a week. I think I know how I want to end my senior year. In the Camaro. Drive it to school (gotta fix the speakers and pick up a Led Zeppelin IV cassette for full effect. Or maybe Hair of The Dog by Nazareth) I'd like to have a pair or Hornies on it by then. As I'm leaving on the last day in it, stop, shred tires and take off! It'd be 1977 all over again. Now, I have to figure out how to convince my family to okay this. Maybe not mention the burnout.

Oh, what now?!
Went out to the garage, just admiring it, and.... somehow, despite the fact that it hasn't been touched since April, it's leaking radiator fluid onto the intake. I swear, this car doesn't like me.

That's normal for one of these cars. Probably seaping from the thermostat housing gasket under the slight pressure that a closed radiator will cause during outside temperature fluctatuations. Whenever one of my cars is sitting for a while I crack the radiator cap open and leave a rag over it (so I remember it's not closed) and that removes the cause of the seapage. |

Re: Oh, what now?!
That's what my grandfather said, which was a huge relief. Just tired of seeing stuff that isn't positive.

Plugs?
What would the proper gap for the plugs be, given the specs of the engine? 10.25:1, the .575/.305 cam, Accel HEI. Dad thinks that it might not be getting enough spark. Certainly seems plausible. Next spring when we get a new carb, I think it'll be time to finally make this SOB run right.
