A question came up in the Ebay section concerning the N66 SS wheels on this 1970 Camaro SS. That option was discontinued January 8, 1969 for the 1969 Camaro SS. They were never offered as an option on the 1970 model.

This was the only optional wheel on the 1970 Camaro SS: new styled Rallye Wheel

Too far from the windshield and facing rearward would place the inlet in a negative pressure area. Instead of a scoop it turns into a suck!

One of those "Chevrolet Mysteries" . . . why did they discontinue the N66 SS wheels for the 1969 Camaro SS? They were an option on the 1969 Nova SS the entire model run. And also for the 1970s.

I believe this photo was taken at the GM Heritage Center. Interesting that they would have a 1970 Nova SS with RWL tires which weren't an option.
