Remember This Nickey Camaro?
A local man is looking for anyone who recalls this Camaro.
A few years ago,we dug my dad’s originally dusk blue 69 Camaro out of storage. He bought the car back in November of 1968 at Nickey Chevrolet, later he took it back and let Nickey do a 427 upgrade. The Chicago cops became quite aware of his street racing and eventually the car made it’s way to the track. He would always race at Oswego/US30/Union grove. The car still sits like it did the last time it went down the track in 1972.We still have the numbers matching 350cid. and the Nickey installed 427 L88 with Aluminum heads that Larry Buelteman reworked. Does anyone remember the car,or have pictures of it at the strip? Last edited by Mr70; 09-09-2018 at 08:50 PM. |

----Was Larry Buetleman a very short guy, and a bit over weight? I had him build a couple of Corvette motors back in 1977/78 if this is the same person. He was a great engine builder and did a bunch of local stuff. Also a really nice guy!......Bill S
