Default 67 camaro gold tilt steering release lever wanted.

Need an original 67 tilt steering column release lever with a gold knob for my interior. I have an original gold turn signal lever and I want to have them match. The repop ones are a bit larger and painting them to match wont work.
I have tried removing the knob from the lever but it feels like it will break. Has anyone been successful in removing the plastic knob from the chrome shaft without breaking it? If so, I can use another original gold turn signal lever and put the removed knob on the tilt lever.
Thanks.

Thanks to Canuck for offering a gold release lever but it turns out there is a difference in the 67 and 68 lever colour and his was a 68. I now have the proper turn signal lever but I am still looking for a 67 specific tilt release lever in gold..
