Does anyone know if the Ohio BMV would keep old documents that could help?

No, Ohio BMV unfortunately won't be of any help especially back to 1975..

Lots of OH newspaper ads through that time period so ask your pops for more info that fsc66 Paul or I can try searching and maybe you'll get lucky?
Did he buy it new or know who did also what Chevy dealer originally ordered or delivered it brand new?
Was it on Lyman's lot for sale after trade date as being 1975, it could've quickly been traded off to another dealer etc?
Did he ever see it again in years later and where?
Any chance it sold new 100 miles away @ Kenny Chevrolet Johnstown then back there for sale used as Nov-75 ad below...stripes added for resale?
Good luck!

Another Kenny Chev ad for what looks like the same car above but earlier and w/o stripes noted.
A couple more questions;
When did your pops trade it in to Lyman?
Did he try selling it privately first and what was your phone #?

Hey Pete thanks for the ads. I will Talk to my dad and try to dig some more details out of him. I do Know he did not buy the Chevelle new. He purchased it in 72 and Traded it to Lyman in 1975 for a New White caprice.
