I bought a new 1966 mustang right out of high School. My sister would not co sign a hipo 289 so i had to settle on a 225 hp 4 bbl and 4 speed. Drove the wheels off it until i got drafted in july 1966. Hsd to sell it.

The Rouge Plant, where that was filmed, is still in production making full size trucks.
It has been in continuous use since 1928 when the Ford Model A was introduced. You can tour the plant through the Henry Ford Museum: https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/f...xoCjtgQAvD_BwE Interestingly enough, Ford went dark when transitioning from the Model T production at Highland Park to the Model A production at the Rouge. That is almost never done. It was a big deal then (as it would be now), generating a lot of interest and excitement around the new vehicle. K

ou never could make a music video like that again, that way before MTV was even dreamed about. Non-workers in a plant running around loose fitting clothing, No safety glasses, Crawling over moving equipment in action. Lawyers & Management would have a " heart attack on the spot" just the thought of such a video being made in there factory..
Great see the old factory again in action. |
