Default Chevelle

If you have the Allen emblem on the rear car was probably sold from there, however it could have been a trade and ordered through another dealer. NCRS report will tell you that. Nothing short of original paperwork will tell you options and drivetrain. There are some telltale things in some models that can help determine, power train info but again, anything can be installed later. Post the trim tag if you get a chance or you can e-mail to me at [email protected] and I can decode that for you if you want.

Paul

A Very Early car. Oct 1965.

Got a Malibu Grill in trunk and Leaves

If there's a Knee Knocker Tach by any chance still attached to lower dash. The redline will tell you Hp rating. In reality, it doesn't matter... Original engine is gone so even replacing with a similar won't make it original. With that rust, you have bigger issues to deal with.
At least it's not melting into ground

Should be a cool build. The car can be anything you want it to be.

Keep us updated on plans and progress!

In the auction, the rear was missing. Did you ever find out where it is?

The owner had bought the car years ago with No Rear end. My thoughts were to build it with a 427 I have & paint it back Black with a Black or Red interior. Not sure if I'm gonna put it back with Stock or Modified suspension.

I posted that in the ebay section while I was surfing the salvage section of ebay. Glad someone here was able to get it.

That can be a nice car on an ambitious project. One recommendation would be to have one of the experts in Chevelle's (not sure who maybe others know like MacNeish is on Camaros) to look at it before you start any work. It will never be numbers matching but at least you can (possibly) get a certification as to the big block SS providence.

Barring that, take plenty of pics before restoring to memorialize.

2500 was not a bad price.

The 138 VIN already proves the car being a big block SS. IMO, I wouldn’t waste any money on certifying that car, just build it into what you want. Like you said, it will never be a numbers car but at least it’s a real SS.
