My 01C LOS 68 Camaro has the marks even with the shroud. Can't say 100% that it's the original wheel since the car has been through a lot of abuse but the patina matches the rest of the car.

I also have a spare wheel I bought with the marks above the shroud.

that is an optional woodgrain steering wheel, RPO N34 Steering Wheel; sports styled, woodgrain plastic rim
5,649 left the factories, the list price was $32.00

Here is the steering wheel on my 68 Beaumont. The grooves end even with the top of the shroud like the othwers pictured.

I have 10 of these steering wheels that are in pretty rough condition. Of the 10, 3 have the grooves that end above the shroud. I haven't looked but I don't think there are any date codes on any of these steering wheels.

I have 2 of these wheels. The orig one out of my 68 Camaro dated 04B is even and so is the other one I have.

I have a 04C Van Nuys, original black wheel,groves end above shroud.

CRG has info on wheel grooves and looks like an early/late situation. Feb 68 changeover???
