Looks like a 8 3/4 chunk might bolt in, but it's not a 9 inch. I think some of the '60s fuel dragsters used the 8 3/4, so that's probably what it is.

57 oldsmobile....would make more sense..look how big the splines/axles are...

they also have the irregular pattern for the pumpkin just like that housing..plus....thats 50s early 60s...and the olds rears where all the rage..

just a thought..not really sure

Yes, that was a popular rear end, and this might be one, but I just did a Google search on the 9.3 Olds and the 8 3/4 and the bolt pattern looks more like the 8 3/4. Do a search and see what you think, but I believe it's the 8 3/4. The Olds has more evenly spaced bolt holes, where the 8 3/4 has 2 holes at the top that are closer together.

Those full floating axles are a little scary looking. Everything is held on by one large C clip on each side.
