Default Drivers under 25

I've been shopping around for alternatives to Hagerty to see if I can reduce costs, but I saw on the MK website that it states "The rates are not designed for drivers under the age of 25 or drivers that have multiple problems with violations and accidents."

I had a classic car under the age of 25, and occasionally allow younger friends/relatives to drive one of my cars (supervised, of course)... How else will a younger generation learn to appreciate this hobby if they can't get any seat time? The thought of not having coverage due to a freak occurrence or mechanical failure while they are behind the wheel is unsettling.

I like that Hagerty promotes the hobby to the younger generation; are there any other classic car insurers out there that will cover younger drivers in classic cars?

Smile Drivers under 25

Hello, We do cover drivers under 25. The overall program is designed for the more mature drivers. Our policy allows permissive use, meaning if you grant someone permission to drive your collector vehicle such as a friend they are covered. We do require that all household members be listed as drivers including the ones under 25. We are very competitive in comparison to Hagerty. Feel free to reach out for a quote.

Age limits/restrictions are "company specific" some companies are more liberal than others. Ironically, some state laws can override that company specific mandate as far as covering younger drivers in the event of a claim

FWIW we have had our son on our policy with MK for all the cars since he turned 16 and the rates were very reasonable.
