Very humble competitor and champion. He and Lee Shepherd (Reher Morrison) had the rivalry in the late 70's & 80's.

Man.... what a sad day. I grew up watching him race. Built models cars of his... loved that Motorcraft T-Bird paint job. I met him at Atco one year and he's such a gentleman. Always funny to see the interviews at the end of the track. Bob always calm, never overly excited, no drama. Then come the funny car guys and they interview John Force and he's like an 8yr old that got his favorite toy for Christmas! :-) So neat to see the differences . Always wished I could be so calm and collected like Mr. Glidden. What a top - notch guy.
