Default Fake or Real 499 distributor

What do you guys think about this 499 distributor.

something doesn't look right on the date code, That middle letter is hard to read, I'm not an expert so we'll see what everybody else says.

Looks like it was turned down on a lathe and restamped, like quite a few I see on Ebay lately.

It wouldn't be very hard for an honest person to measure the diameter of the housing and put this dimension in the ad.....especially with a no return policy.

May be a real stamping . That "7" in the date code has that familiar little curve on the lower leg, looks like a "7" on a real 837 alternator. That particular font is not the same as many re stamps.
As far as the 2nd. didgit in the date code, could have been made that way ? Someone doing a restamp would have been more carfull ?
And if one was re stamping why not make it a more desireable 69 date?

defintly a typical ebay fake. Also stamped with the wrong date.

I think the stamping is an original roll stamped part. The restamps are laser engraved and very nice.
