Default L78 motors for original cars

does anyone know if the original L78 engines that were taken out by motion, yenko and other dealers ever were recovered and found by the car owners?

Very good question. I wonder how they figured the price with an engine swap. And if those 396 engines were sold to other customers.

I was in college in Pittsburgh in the late 60's, and there was always an ad in the Sunday Pittsburgh Press, with engines, short blocks and wheels/tires for sale. (maybe other stuff aswell, I don't remember) In the pre-COPO period, Yenko was trying to recoup as much of the conversion costs as he coulld, as quickly as he could.

Below is one of the Yenko ads for the L78 blocks also flat hoods as posted a few years back in the Old Newspapers thread, there's others too around pages 29/30 as this link...

A few of the unique '68 MV Suffix L78 blocks have surfaced and some reunited w/ the original cars, here's a thread w/ the most recent circumstance...
