I can totally agree with Sully on the brake line issue...my 2001 Tahoe has had most of them replaced due to rust. Of course it has 310,000 miles on the clock

He hopped in the truck the other day and the brake pedal went to the floor (truck has 70k and is very well maintained), looked underneath, all the brake lines were rotted out along with a good bit of frame/body metal, he then looked at my truck, totally clean (my truck rarely leaves Long Island). That is a perfect example of the destructive power of the salt here in the Northeast. </div></div>

He's among friends. look here: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthrea...ailu#Post539230

OK, I'm definitely not driving until it rains again. I've been told that upon first sign of snow the other morning, Dept of Transpo decided it was a great idea to dump a ton of salt on some roads in Westchester County even though it was nowhere near cold enough for the snow to stick. I'm out of action, I guess.

They love throwing that salt around here also!! They did with the light snow we had a few days ago!! I always say that's when you know the &quot;party's over&quot; for cruising when they start throwing that stuff down on the roadways for the first time in the season...

Nice corrosive stuff....
