Air Cleaner paint ID
I need to identify the correct brand/paint code for the air cleaner base on my car. Its a '71 LS-5 Dual snorkel unit. I am assuming its some semi-gloss black. What paint should I use? I want to be specific when I tell my painter.
Thanks! Jon |

Re: Air Cleaner paint ID
All of the air cleaner assemblies I have seen were GM reconditioning black... it is a cool black (blue-black) with 40%-60% gloss vs being a warm black... (one with brown in it).

Re: Air Cleaner paint ID
I have never read or heard of a SPECIFIC formula. Everybody does there own thing.......and the Professionals arent giving away there trade "secrets". I have a NOS 70 Z-28 cleaner that is quite glossy. Almost all the top $$ restos have very shiny Black Aircleaners. Seems that it's better to error on the side of too glossy vs too dull/flat!!!!!!!
