Default Z28 in Van Nuys Trim Tag?

I recently saw an advertisement for a 1970 Z28 that noted because it was a Van Nuys build, it didn't have the traditional "Z28" stamped on the Trim Tag! I'm not a Camaro expert so this was news to me...is this true, is it only Nuys and more importantly, if true, why?!?!

I saw that too and wondered the same thing. He said it had the floor mounted gas pedal and other Z28 parts, but trim tag didn't say Z28.

Yep, it can be difficult to prove a Van Nuys Z28 without the original engine.

One thing they did at VN was often put the buildsheet on top of the gas tank which can be invaluable. Super rare to find that in a Norwood Camaro.

I think this was because VN/LOS was a early adopted GMAD General Motors Assembly Division that pushed management of the Body fab and Vehicle assembly under one umbrella and the needs of the X codes or RPO 's indicated on the Trim tag were no longer necessary.

^ Best guess on my part

Yes no Z28 on the trim tag, mine has its partial vin on the front pad
and i must tell you that there are a lot of Anomaly's on that front pads
partial vin that really show what you've got.
Everyone I know that has a Van Nuys Z28 or L78 has one ore more
authentic build sheets.

My 72 Nova SS built in VN Cali had the build sheet on top of the gas tank. Pretty decent shape.
