Oh no. Not the old graphite core Super Stock wires. I've never seen a plug wire that caused more missfires than those.

Yes, I have heard that too. My build has the 7mm Mallory High Performance Silicone wire with solid wire at its core to transmit all of those ‘trons coming from the coil.

Rich - 1st time I had them coated they turned brown/black on first firing and then flaked off there after. They just were not done at all correctly. Only issue so far with this current coating is a change to yellow and the coating is very strong and apparently durable so far. It is uniform in color although the collectors are still orange. I am good with this at this point - it looks good in person - check it out at MCACN!

Sam, I thought the Day-2 plug wires of the day would have been Packard 440, solid core.

Sure - That would work Verne!!!! But, I have always liked the muted orange look of the Mallory - provided it is solid core!

Thanks, those racing photos were my inspiration for returning the Chevelle to its as-raced configuration. Glad that the OO, Wayne, had the presence of mind to keep all the good stuff from the car’s early life.

I took the car to the exhaust shop and had the Super Scavengers hooked up to the mufflers. It’s a tad quieter now!
