Default Copo 4spd shifter bracket

What is the difference in the big block to the small block 4 spd shifter bracket?does it just move it to the drivers side more? What is the difference and could you just use spacers and the small block mount

Because the bracket is offset for BB the rods are also different to keep alignment...if you just offset a SB shifter the shifter rods aren't going to be happy.
If don't want to spend the $ on an original BB bracket I would at least go with a repro.

You didn't ask, but you need the correct engine mount stands, and crossmember in as well as the shifter bracket and linkage, in order to keep the proper geometry.

I have all of the big block brackets and crossmember and the z bar, just the mess of a linkage it came with, looks like I need to start over with all new, everything else on the car will be redone. I am trying to get the car done to bring to the route 66 super car reunion to beat it up at the track

Got the complete bb shifter kit with bracket and new rods. Rods are nice, bracket is not even close to fitting. Yes I bought a repop. Any body else have an issue or have the correct bracket ? I find it hard to believe it is that far off? Only goes on 1 way, I have the assembly manual. Now what. The bracket that came with the car is the one that mounts under the trans mount, was that 68? Car is a February 69 build date

Take a look at the Factory Assembly Instruction Manual on page UPC M20 A3 and you'll see how the BB bracket looks. The shifter mechanism is the same but the rods are special for BB.

I bought the repro usa made bb bracket. I had to elongate the holes to get it to bolt to the trans.

I found out that the 70 and later trans with the fine spline input and large out put have a longer tailshaft with different bolt pattern to mount the bracket to. Your only option is to fabricate a new bracket and then space it out 3/4 inch to match the original bracket.
