1970 Chevelle SS LS5 Canadian Docs
Good friend of mine passed away about 5 years ago, his wife called me about a year after he passed wanting to sell the Chevelle. We made a deal, but I never picked it up. Going out this morning to take a second look.
So here's my 2 questions, I don't believe it has the correct number matching M22... how much does this hurt the value and what would you guess at a fair market value for this Chevelle is? It does have the correct number matching LS5 and the correct number matching rearend, 70,XXX mile car. I watched this car in the paint shop as well as being restored, it's a beautiful car.

Wow what a stunning car.
As long as you have original motor and rearend, I don't think a non-born with trans will hurt the value. If you don't want to pick it up maybe you could "loan" it to a fellow member here on this site :-)

Few more pictures.
Missing distributor, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, wrong booster ( but have the correct one) correct dated alternator and starter. Correct born with motor and rearend.

Nice looking car! I agree non-original trans shouldn't hurt it. Too bad the cowl tag got ground up.

Very very nice car. Now get rid of the cowl grilles. SS cars never came with cowl grilles. They are a Malibu thing and many restorers always make that mistake. Also, the air cleaner hood seal is upside down but probably glued down. Easy to replace if you want to make the effort.
