Default November '02 Feature CAR

Jeff, The car really looks great in red. Too bad Don Yenko never made any red yenko's. Carl has alot of nice cars and I'm sure you got one of the best. Too bad you didn't bring it to the reunion before you had it shipped. Any other COPO's or YENKO's in England--do people even know what the car is?? Great Buy and take care, Mark

Beautiful car, Jeff. Great article too. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. I hope the folks across the pond appreciate it as much as we do. Look forward to seeing her in person when you return stateside.

Thanks, Mark.

As far as I know, there aren't any other COPOs in England at the moment, but I'm not very well integrated into the Camaro community here yet. There seems to be a lot more 3rd Gen cars than anything else.

However, there are a number of road racing cars, more traditionally a British pursuit than drag racing, including a pretty successful '68 Z/28 Trans-Am type car. There was another one that was road racing using a ZL-1 engine, but I don't know what happened to that -- come to think of it, I should find out. There are also a number of pro-street or higher type 1st Gen Camaro drag racing cars running around, too.

The Scandinavian countries are very drag racing oriented and there is a member named COPO Anders that has '69 COPO.

Did your Reunion CD arrive yet?

Jeff

nice car! put some yenko stripes on it , find some way to say it was the only one built, have the copo connection authenticate it and it will end up in holub's garage. all a joke of course, it would have been nice to see this car done as a yenko in red with or without a vinyl top and white or even black stripes.

Nice car. What do the locals say when you 'pop the bonnet' on your Camaro?

Very Cool Car, and Yes Carl you were 100 correct.

Kevin,
You could try and buy it and make one of those rare * Tribute COPOs out of it. There were only two in red with none found.

He might be persuaded to take either the Yenko Nova or ZL1 even trade ?

That car is "Simply smashing!" M20 to boot. If Don Yenko ever made a mistake (go easy on me folks), it was by not putting M20's in all the Camaros and Chevelles!(4 speed versions of course). Congrats, real pretty!

Yeah, yeah...keep rubbing that in, Pete! Hey, next time you see JJ, tell him I'm gonna need some tips on driving a 4-speed in the very near future. Oh, I've got my cowboy boots cleaned up and ready to go...
