Default VIN# on engine in 1969

Confused here … I see some 1969 camaro's (small blocks) that have a VIN# next to the oil filter and I have never seen a 1969 Nova (small block) that had one next to the oil filter. Is this a plant specific?

Was that at every plant?
My understanding is that is not true for the Nova's that were built at the Willow Run plant.

Post Nova VIN stamps...

The Nova engine VIN was not near the oil filter...only the front deck pad. I have never seen it any other way.
