Default Just when you least expect it.

I have a friend in Austin that is relatively new to the hobby, and he has been consistently purchasing cars for the last five or so years. Everything he purchases he runs by me for approval. There was a Corvette Bronze 1970 for sale on this site a while back and I called and let him know it was a good car, he bought it and it was a GREAT car. The seller contacted him about two weeks ago with another 1970 he had for sale. A Monza Red/tan interior base motor coupe with 17,000 miles. My friend ran everything by me and I let him know he should buy the car, and if not, I'd like to own it. With my Scarab recently selling on BaT, I have room in the garage and you all know what that means. I wasn't interested in buying a real expensive Corvette, but what do you get nowadays unless you want to write a big check. The red/tan car arrived on Saturday and I saw it and fell instantly in love with the car. Without going into the details, my friend offered to sell me the car as he could tell I wanted to make a great car better. This was his way of thanking me for helping buy Corvettes over the years. This is one of the prettiest Corvettes I've ever seen, virtually no options, no smog, Harrison small aluminum radiator with expansion tank like a midyear small block.

I’ll post some more today, Bill. I’ve always been a fan of low option cars. I don’t know why.

I sent the tank sticker off for validation. Actually, this document was found in the dash. I looked yesterday and the tank sticker is still on the tank and looks good.
