I don't know when they started but, Glasstek makes a bolt on one that looks real nice....

I've seen exactly ONE real hood in all the years playing with these cars, about 16 years ago.Not sure on production dates or amounts. What is a REAL one worth today?

It is hard to say what an original GM hood is worth now days because most people do not know what a real one looks like. I was looking at picture of the 68 Z/28 convertible and I kept thinking all those options but they did not add the R/S option. Is it because of the 140 cam?

The Estes Z28 convertible had a fiberglass cross ram hood even though it had a single four barrel carb. Note the picture below showing the cross ram air filter with a third (center) hole for the 1x4 air cleaner stud & wingnut. The hood was put on the car in July '68.

How about a thread with detailed pictures and information on the GM hood. I know I don't have anything to add or show, but I'd bet someone here does. Anybody?

The best source of information on the hood and all other HD Camaro racing equipment is Wayne Guinn's book "Camaro Untold Secrets."

The CRG Camaro Trans-Am forum has great info on the fiberglass and steel GM cross ram hoods.
