I remember when this car was on eBay a couple years ago. Poor description, poor pictures - all taken inside a small garage. I could tell just by the current detailed description and better photos that it was not the same seller as it was when on eBay.
Dan is right, you'd be waaayyyyyy upside down if you tried to restore this; it would be purely a labor of love. That said, I really hope someone rescues this car because it is just too cool. I just have this image in my mind of the guy who sits down and orders this boat with the SS427 package, bucket seats, console, posi, 4 speed, AM-FM radio, Stereo tape player.....and manual steering! Gotta love it.

Just confirmed. Car is sold. I received other photos from the owner. It appears to me that the car needs a frame. Rotted really bad in the cross member area. The trunk floor has some rot also. Nice car with great color and Docs., but like other members has said you would be into it much more than it’s worth. If I was a little younger and more energetic I’d probably still buy it and restore it.

I wonder what those hubcaps in the trunk are from....70's Chevy truck perhaps?

I did a frame-off resto on my wife's 69 Impala convert (a northern IL car from new) back in the early 90's and fortunately found no such rot....a lot of heavy scaly surface rust but no structurally compromising rust. The trans crossmember was another story....that thing was so thin in some places (rusted on the inside!) that I had to find a replacement.

Back in 76 when I first bought my Z24 Convertable I was the 5th owner in 7 years. I knew all the previous owners names. A women two streets over bought it new. The fenders and quarters had rot repair. The trunk and floor boards patched with old body panel sheet metal and rivets. Non the less I was only 16 years old and had so much fun in that car. Unfortunately I didn’t realize at the time how rare it was.. I pulled the motor and tranny and sold it for $200. I only paid $500 for it. I installed the motor in a 71 ChevelleSS 454 car. Had it in that car for 12 years then pulled it and put it in a 74 Super Cheyenne 454 pickup for another 12 years. I still have the motor after 45 years waiting to go into something else.

So, if I were to come get the engine and pay you $300, you would break even on that purchase ?...
